The Pub
At the heart of this historic Young’s hotel is a welcoming community pub and dining room. The seasonally changing menu entices guests to sample traditional British dishes alongside freshly prepared specials packed with flavour.
The pub menu is all about conviviality with many dishes designed for sharing from sharing boards laden with seafood through to a whole baked camembert with sourdough soldiers. There’s also a host of gastro favourites, comfort dishes and seasonal specials, including pheasant and venison, as well as vegan choices like Jackfruit chilli with sticky coconut rice. From brunch through to dinner, and not forgetting superlative Sunday roasts with all the trimmings and delicious brunches, the pub at the Station Hotel caters for every occasion.
Locals get a say in the menu too – on the third Tuesday of every month, rock up and create your own dishes with the seasonal produce provided. The two chosen dishes will be put to a poll on the Station Hotel’s Facebook page with the winning dish featured on the menu for a month.
Great draught and craft beers, premium lagers and exquisite wines sit alongside an innovative cocktail list categorised by best times of the day in which to drink them. Day-drinking features ‘not too heavy’ choices such as a classic margarita and Bloody Mary whilst ‘early evenings’ are all about aperitivo – think Negroni or Aperol Spritz with the more decadent Brandy Alexander and Espresso Martini best suited for ‘after the watershed’.
The Station’s commitment to involving its neighbours extends to drinks too. The second Tuesday of every month sees the pub host a complimentary cocktail masterclass – mix and muddle a creation-featuring a favourite spirit as voted by locals.
The Bedrooms
Overnight guests will feel right at home in one of the 16 boutique-style bedrooms, which have been sympathetically renovated offering a contemporary feel yet keeping with the natural features of the Victorian building. Restful shades of soft greys and blues beautifully contrast against black and white murals of the London skyline, with panelled headboards and soft bedding taking centre stage for a restful night’s sleep.
