The Boathouse in Putney

Post an extensive refurbishment there has never been a better time to visit The Boathouse in Putney Wharf.  The all glass building, spread over three floors, now offers elegant contemporary interiors coupled with stunning views over the Thames and a fantastic terrace. Come for the food though – the menu is characterised by its use of impeccably sourced seasonal British ingredients and runs the gamut from meat and seafood to veggie and vegan and for Sunday roasts it can’t be beaten. Just a stone’s throw from Putney Station but far away from the madding crowds, The Boathouse is a quintessentially British local for the modern pub-goer, families and four-legged friends alike.

Curious as a Cucumber

Join us on Wednesday 18th March to celebrate one of our favourite days of the year in conjunction with Hendrick's Gin and Fever-Tree mixers, as we welcome back Cucumber Currency Day! Yes you heard it right, we’ll be swapping a refreshing glass of Hendrick's Gin and Fever-Tree tonic for the unsung hero of the vegetable world, the humble cucumber. But before you start cultivating your cucumbers in anticipation we've compiled a few of our favourite facts about the most curious of veggies.

Where to get away this winter

Whether you’re a winter lover, or spend the months counting down until the UK is blessed with spring sunshine, there’s no denying there is something magical about a winter getaway.  Imagine a weekend sitting by a cosy fire in a traditional pub, sipping a glass of red wine or steamy hot chocolate, perhaps playing a board game or reading the paper. To us winter means blustery walks along the beach or in one of London’s great parks, followed by a Sunday roast in the pub so good you can’t stop thinking about for the days that follow. A winter getaway doesn’t have to break the bank.  Thanks to its rich history and many world-famous cultural attractions, there is no end to the memorable weekend breaks on offer to couples, families and solo travellers in England.
