If you like traditional English roast beef try this pub for size with their hung aged beef cooked to perfection, red as all beef should be! Price a bit more, but worth it if you want the real thing, good portion size, and melts in the mouth.Service good and attentive. House red wine drinkable, could be better for the price.

Lovely pub always has been. My Dad John went as part of Wimbledon RFU in the 30's and used The Rose all his life. My treat as a small child was to see the Dray horses.
Regards to a lovely place

Noel Ahearne - The forming of a club

The Rose & Crown was the home of Wimbledon Rugby Football Union. It was founded in the pub in 1865. They were founder members of the now RFU who are based at Twickenham. All meetings were held in the Rose & Crown and matches were played apparently, on the common. The club has its own grounds now in Barham Road, off Copse Hill and this year celebrates it's 10th year of Mini Junior and Youth Rugby. This great pub is still the first choice for senior players and parents of the mini to youth to meet for drinks.
The U14's dad's will have our 7th year of christmas night out there next month.
