The Richard the First pub is just about as perfect a pub as anybody could wish for. The beer, staff and atmosphere are all excellent.
My only gripe concerns the odd mixture of tables and chairs in the smaller bar, which are a mixture of oversized stools, high tables and an inappropiate shaped table, in the bay window area.
Sat at the high tables, is alikened to being in a scene in the film 'Tom Thumb.'

Please bring back some sensible tables and chairs and make this great little pub a perfect ten.

Really great pub with a warm & friendly atmosphere. The staff are a credit to the manager, always pleased to help. With definately be enjoying those summer nights here.

Delightful drinking establishment; the only place around with decent ale. The garden is lovely on a summer's day, the staff and management treat you like you've been going there every day for years, and, on a side-note, the hand dryers in the toilets are fantastic (you'd have to see for yourself). Highly recommended!
