Time to dust off the Duffle coats
The season of giving has arrived and this year is no exception at Young’s as we team up with Wrap Up London for our second year to collect pre-loved coats for those who need them most. So get rifling through those wardrobes, dust off those duffle coats and read on to find out more on how you can help this winter.
Now entering its 14th year, Wrap Up London has become one of the largest winter volunteering events in the city and illustrates what can be achieved when people come together as a community to help those most in need.
Across the Captial, hundreds of people come together during November and December to collect, transport, sort, and distribute up to 20,000 warm coats. It would not be possible without every single one of them and adding to this year’s hubs across London, you’ll find 28 of our pubs taking collections between the 22nd November to the 6th December
Of course, December isn’t complete without a visit from the man in red, so don’t forget to look out for Santa’s Dray horse and carriage as it tours London on Thursday 5th December. Swapping Rudolph for two stunning shire horses, Father Christmas will be collecting pre-loved coats from The Phoenix in Victoria and The Marquess of Anglesey in Covent Garden, ready to be shared with front-line charities to support those in need through winter.
The big man in red’s route will take him through the capital, starting at noon in Victoria, the dray horses will then make their way past Buckingham Palace and down The Mall before finishing in Covent Garden at the recently reopened Marquess of Anglesey. It’s the season of giving so we’re urging you to grab those old, unwanted coats and pop them down to one of these pubs to keep someone warm this winter.
